• BioSurfaces, Inc. Awarded Patent Protection for Artificial Blood Vessel (August 19, 2008)
August 19, 2008 - BioSurfaces, Inc. was awarded patent protection by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for technology related to development of a new biologically-active artificial blood vessel, one of the core technologies of the company. This technology was developed in conjunction with Dr. Martin J. Bide at the University of Rhode Island and Dr. Philip J. Brown at Clemson University. The patent entitled “Nanofibrous Biocomposite Prosthetic Vascular Graft” was issued patent number US 7,413,575 B2 by the USPTO.
